ORİENTAL STUDİES ASSOCİATİON İN MESUDİYE MEDRESESİ
Oriental Studies Association The Oriental Studies Association was established by a group of academics in 2005 in Diyarbakir (Turkey) in order to unveil cultural heritage of the region of which almost forgotten during last several decades, rediscover the richness of oriental culture through organizing symposiums on the cultural centers of the region and establishing a library with an aim to provide services to the researchers of the region and the world. We can sort out our main activities as follows: Collecting manuscripts and establishing a digital databank consists of those sources Organizing symposiums The association was organized following symposiums: September 19-21 2006 International Siirt Symposium July 31-August 02 2007 International Tatvan and its region Symposium September 7-9 2007 International İbrahim Hakkı and Ulema (Religous scholars) of Siirt September 25-27 April 2008 International Silvan Symposium English, French, Arabic and Farsi courses for our member and for those who interested
LANGUAGE COURSES
Our language courses are:
English (basic and intermadiate levels) Arabic (basic and intermadiate levels) Farsi Ottoman Turkish
LIBRARY
Library of our association consists of 7000 volumes which are mostly social and teological books. Upstairs of our building reserved for library in order to provide researchers a healthy working enviroment. SEMINARS
Every Friday there is a seminar takes place in our assocition. The seminars were among others mostly on the subjects of law, teology, medicine and literarture. DIGITAL DATABANK OF MANUSCRIPTS One of the most important activities of our associotion is establishing a digital databank of manuscripts which collects books written in our region.
